Did queens in Egypt have their own Pyramids?

The answer was yes!

  • Although these pyramids were significantly smaller the fact that women of royalty were given their own pyramids is impactful to what Egyptian culture saw their queens as.

  • The pyramids were built as burial grounds and places of worship so it is safe to assume the ones for the queens were used for the same reason.

  • Obviously being that they were significantly smaller shows that they were not as worshipped to the people as say Khufu was, but pyramids that worship and are used as resting places for women is quite a progressive ideology in the ancient world.
