Dante Alighieri
Why Dante is NOT just another poet
Dante Alighieri lived an eventful life. After being exiled from his home of Florence, he never settled for a permanent home and lived a life of travel and spiritual philosophy.
He is known for his work in The Divine Comedy where he describes the journey of a man, himself, going through hell, purgatory, and heaven to find god.
His work is known for his talent of connecting philosophy, theology, as well as scripture and contemporary poetry. He is the most famous Italian layman of his time and provides an inspiration for those spiritually lost.
